About the Process

August 2009 – Design workshop

Following the July workshops the design team set about drawing up a series of draft concept plans. The plans showed possible road layouts, new parklands and housing. Three concept plans where showed to a group of around 40 community and stakeholder representatives for discussion.

Evolution of Plan

Most participants at the design workshop had not been involved in town planning. The following concept plans were developed by a design team prior to the workshop to indicate the development potential of the area as well as promote discussion and ideas amongst the participants.

The plans were only intended to show what a masterplan looks like and do not represent the ultimate vision for the Brownlie Neighbourhood redevelopment. At this stage we are only exploring ideas, layouts, road design, housing types and the location of parklands.

From here we will be refining a series of design concept option for your review. these will be available shortly.
